Molicel M65A Is Coming — ULS Gets Early Samples From CIBF 2026

The battery world is moving fast, and one of the biggest highlights from this year’s CIBF 2026 show was the upcoming Molicel INR-21700-M65A cell. After seeing the excitement firsthand at the Molicel booth, we’re excited to announce that ULS has secured sample cells and plans to offer these new batteries once they become available to the general public.

 

A New High-Capacity Molicel Cell

The new Molicel M65A is a 21700 lithium-ion cell rated at:

  • 6.5Ah capacity
  • High discharge performance
  • Designed for demanding applications including:
    • EV systems
    • Robotics
    • LEV / PEV builds
    • Industrial battery packs
    • High-performance custom applications

The sample cells we received are marked:

“NOT FOR E-CIG OR VAPE”

which is standard for many industrial-grade cells during early release phases.

What makes the M65A exciting is the combination of:

  • significantly higher capacity
  • strong power delivery
  • expected Molicel reliability and cycle life

For builders and enthusiasts, this could become one of the most interesting new 21700 cells released in years.

CIBF 2026 — Molicel Draws Attention

The company emphasized:

Molicel continues pushing performance boundaries, and the M65A appears positioned as a next-generation high-capacity cell for demanding energy storage needs.

ULS Will Carry the M65A

ULS is excited to confirm that we plan to stock the Molicel M65A once:

  • production ramps up
  • public distribution begins
  • cells become officially available for commercial sale

We currently have two early sample cells arriving for evaluation and testing.

Once testing begins, we plan to publish:

  • capacity results
  • discharge testing
  • thermal performance
  • internal resistance measurements
  • comparisons against other popular 21700 cells

Early Expectations

While full public specifications are still developing, early information suggests the M65A could become:
